Hello Reader, Some of you have been following our moving journey, and when things got a little crazy, I kind of dropped the ball! We had about a week between getting our keys and moving day, so we started moving some of those awkward things into our new home. But when it came right down to it, we could have moved SO much more! Move day went well, with only a few hiccups. It was a lot, though, and I think moving is always going to be a little stressful. I remember looking around and thinking, "How do we still have SO much stuff?" Even though I had worked on decluttering as much as possible, I was still finding things to donate. My car trunk was filling up as the day went on! We still had several days after the move to go back to the old house and pick up items that were awkward or things that perhaps the movers could have taken if they had been packed properly. So, for about a week, we went back every day, filling up the car and cleaning the house. Needless to say, we were exhausted! We finally finished ONE DAY before the new owners were set to move in. Whew! 😥 Moving is a LOT. And once we started settling into our new home, the next challenge was finding all those things that had been put somewhere and that we couldn't remember where! It was a lot of... "Honey, where did you put those batteries?" "Did you throw out the birthday candles?" Ugh! 😑 I still can't find the keys to the filing cabinet, which is locked, of course. And one of the movers actually handed the keys to me! 🤷♀️ Anyway, if I were doing it all over again (or helping you through a move), I think things would go much more smoothly. But that's how we learn, right? I definitely felt like I was in my decluttering era, but now I've found myself back in my acquiring era! I did let go of MANY things, mostly items we couldn't use in our new home. And now I'm finding myself needing to purchase some things. Out with the old and in with the new! That's one of the great benefits of decluttering and letting go. It creates room for new things, new possibilities and a fresh start. And speaking of getting unstuck and making changes...
